The second in our series of interviews with mobile influencers is the the head honcho of Brighton based Future Platforms.

What's your app of the moment?

Kindle and Omnioutliner I use all the time; MadPad by Smule is gorgeously fun.

Samsung Galaxy S2

Which mobile startups have you got your eye on?

Smule do consistently beautiful work. Lanyrd aren’t specifically mobile but should be soon.

What are you currently working on?

We’re just launching Hotels, a full hotel booking product for Lastminute.com, available across Europe; and the Viz Profanisaurus, which we hope will be the most offensive app available on the Ovi Store. I can’t talk about the other things we have on.

What will be the biggest opportunity in 2012?

NFC is about to get interesting, I think. And both Android and WP7 seem to be getting much more attention at the moment – we’ve seen a flood of interest from customers wanting to get onto them, in the last couple of months.

Who are your 3 rockstars in mobile?

Mark Curtis, late of Flirtomatic.
Robert Hamilton, previously of Scan Mobile and Orange, now at Google.
Bryan and Stephanie Rieger of Yiibu – please don’t make me choose between them.
Who were you working for 10 years ago?

I was doing FP ten years ago.

Who was/is your best boss?

Richard Davies, then of Good Technology, now of Vexed Digital.

Who should we interview next?

Any of the rock-stars above.
